Celebrity Voting PSAs Are Silly

I hate it when celebrities get all serious and do a PSA, in this case the bandwagon is getting people to vote. Yes, people should vote, even though each year the choices get worse and worse. It's almost like being told to choose which (Movie) Movie (ala SCARY MOVIE, DATE MOVIE, etc) is "the best". They all suck. The only candidate this year that I had any confidence in was Ron Paul. Neither Obama or McCain seem like great choices to me. Putting aside the policies and politics of the main candidates aside, the possibility of McCain winning scares me more. That's because he's around that average age where men die, so it's doubtful he'd live out his full term, and it's terrifying that the keys to the kingdom could fall into that lap of an unqualified, incompetent religious whacko with the intelligence of a drink coaster.

Anyway, whenever these celebrities do these PSAs it always seems so smug and condescending. It's always incredibly heavy-handed and painful to watch. Plus, if you're the sort of person who's only voting because Halle Berry or Leonardo DiCaprio are telling you to, maybe you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Clearly, you're not bright or competent enough to be allowed to vote. Stick to voting on who wins AMERICAN IDOL or DANCING WITH THE STARS.

That Jessica Alba ad with the gimp mask is hilarious though.
