Run Bad Sunday

After a month of doing incredibly well at poker, I've been running terrible the last few days. Sunday night was the absolute worst... within the first ten minutes of sitting down I dropped two buy-ins.

The first lost buy-in came from calling a flop shove on a 15 outter (open ended straight draw, flush draw/straight FD) that didn't get there. I was a 56% favorite when the money went in, and had the correct pot odds to call, so I guess I can pat myself on the back for that.

About two hands later on another table, I got coolered for another buy-in with a full house over full house loss.

With those hooves, donkeys can't mash the "fold" button.

After that I won some back, and then dropped 3/4 of a buy-in vs a preflop shovetard with an EXACT range of 99+,AQ+ by calling with AKs. (I actually did the math against this player since I see them so often and know 100% what their range is when they shove preflop. Basically, vs this player you've got a good chance of winning with AA, KK, and AK, everything else is an insta-fold.) Despite being a 70% favorite when I called the shove, they had AQ, hit a Q and won. Then they INSTANTLY hit and ran me, which is exactly what this player does EVERY single time.

It's days like this that make me insane. I was playing well, it's just that variance kept smacking me around.

I did manage to drag it up to being down just one buy-in before I decided to call it a night. Considering that only puts me at being down two buy-ins total from my max, I can't really complain.
