Entertainment

Is Olivia Munn actually an Avenger in IRON MAN 2? Minor possible spoiler.

CHUCK (probably) lives! HEROES... might, as well!. I don't care about HEROES, but knowing that it's probable that CHUCK will return makes me happy. (Even if season 3 has been a bit patchy.)

DOCTOR WHO's new season is modeled after TWILIGHT? Hopefully this is clueless exec talk, where he's hoping to attract more viewers. Otherwise, I'm done with WHO. TWILIGHT is for young girls and retarded spinsters. Pushing DOCTOR WHO in the direction is vile. Still, I trust Moffat given his track record with the WHO stories he's written so far, and by how much I liked COUPLING.

New Line goes back to POLICE ACADEMY. Just like the VACATION series, looks like Hollywood is going back to the 80's well again.

Craig Gillespie to remake FRIGHT NIGHT?. Oh god, another 80's horror movie remake?

Video Games

PORTAL 2 officially announced. No surprise, but this still gets a "YEEEEEEESSSS!!!" from me. It's coming to both Xbox 360 and the PC.

Even more PORTAL 2 details surface. Scans of Game Informers article leaked online, so this is basically the highlights. (I saw the scans yesterday and ead the whole thing.)

GameStop reveals major PORTAL 2 feature -- co-op. Not a big deal to me, but maybe some of you might be interested in that.

Sony looks into degradable game demos. Given how quickly I beat most games (within 24-48 hours of getting them), I could easily beat the complete game for free before the features lock down.

Ubisoft updates PC DRM, claims it wasn't cracked.

ARKHAM ASYLUM GOTY edition detailed, getting 3D treatment. Hopefully this means the price on the regular edition drops so I can scoop that up on the cheap!

Full Infinity Ward suit document released. Also, The Activision Lawsuit: What it means and where it's going

Analyst: GTA V announcement coming before E3. I wonder if it'll be GTA V or something like GTA: VICE CITY 2 or whatever.

First screens from FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS surface, feature glorious beards. Looks good to me.

Facepalm: Ubisoft DRM servers bork, downing Ubi PC games. This is why DRM, especially this kind, is horrible.

Ubisoft lied about DRM servers, admits they were attacked. I guess they initially claimed it was due to "exceptional demand". Oh man.

The Rest

DMCA muscle kills DVD copying, for real. Well, commercially available DVD copying, right?

Congressman compares lack of radio performance tax to slavery. Wow. Any doubts he's in the record companies' pocket? Again, radio = free advertising for the record companies. (On a related note, the other day I realized that I haven't listened to the radio, outside of other people's cars, etc, in years.) Anyway, this is an absolutely ridiculous comparison.
