Misc
Comcast's sarcasm detector is broken. I think it's more that the customer service drone can't go off script.
Blockbuster Says They Might Have To File For Bankruptcy. Dead business model. Dead business. I stopped going there about ten years ago when they charged me late fees on three movies I never saw, let alone rented. So, good riddance, I say!
Entertainment
Tom Baker to record for Big Finish? Considering he's said "no" for years, this is kind of a big deal. Personally, I gave up on the Big Finish DOCTOR WHO audio stories a few years back. I just find it much harder to find time to sit and listen to something and pay attention to it, as opposed to just watching something.
Revealed: The real-life drama behind BACK TO THE FUTURE. Now you know why Crispen Glover was replaced as George McFly in the sequels.
Jamie Foxx cast in big screen KANE & LYNCH. WTF? Why?
Video Games
Xbox 360 gaining USB storage support in 2010 update. That'd be cool. Way cheaper than buying an official drive. Although, I do wonder if copying games to the USB hard drive would be as advantageous as it is copying them to the 360's? Would the USB be slower? With the 360's drive it speeds up load times, etc and saves on wear and tear to the DVD drive. Still, capping the drive's max capacity at 16GB so it won't compete with the official hard drive's capacity is crappy.
Sam Fisher goes rogue...starts tweeting
KANE AND LYNCH 2: DOG DAYS scheduled for August 24 release. I'll wait until this one becomes a bargain title, then I'll snap it up. Here's a bit about the game: KANE & LYNCH 2 producer talks monsters and losers.
Irrational showcases BIOSHOCK baddies that never surfaced. Personally, I think it's better these were dropped.
ARKHAM ASYLUM GOTY will hit North America. It's just getting here later than everywhere else.
Yarr!
Internet piracy taking big toll on jobs. Who wants to bet this was funded by one or more of the media companies? "Consumers have to understand that there will be nothing to consume if it's impossible to make money making the content." Wrong. There will always be people out there making music or other forms of art. They just won't be as commercialized without the bloated corporate backing. Which is probably a good thing.
Canadian movie pirate ‘maVen’ sent to jail. I always thought that was a group and not one guy.
"Piracy" sounds too sexy, say rightsholders. Well then stop calling it that yourselves, idiots.
As expected, ridiculous, wrong, exaggerating and misleading report claims that 'piracy' is killing jobs. Told'ja.
