Fun Crime!
Inept crooks sneak into Sovereign Bank in Brooklyn, but don't take anything. Just to prove that they can?
McDonald's worker robs rival restaurant while on break. In his McDonald's uniform! Bear in mind, this is the sort of guy who probably screws up your order.
Erin Andrews peephole stalker lands in jail. Wouldn't it have been better to have just made a really bad Photoshop of her nude? It wouldn't have landed this moron in jail.
Entertainment
Jack Kirby's estate sues: Will Marvel lose control of Iron Man? They're suing not just for a piece of the action, but to co-own (and probably outright take the characters away from Marvel) now. Including Spider-Man, which Kirby didn't even create. These people are just related to the guy and had zilch to do with the creations of those characters that he did have a hand in co-creating.
Watch this now: Craig Robinson sings Jessie's Girl. WTF? Here's another version.
Larry David working on more CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. That's a show that's never slipped in quality.
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE star Peter Graves dies in L.A.
When to stop with BSG? There are a few logical stopping points that are better than the actual ending. Maybe the end of season 2. Or when they get to "Earth".
Syfy considers making another BSG spin-off series, plus two superhero shows. I guess they want to turn GALACTICA into the new STARGATE. Milk, milk, milk...
DOCTOR WHO's new companion explains why she wears really short skirts. I don't care what the article says, my own answer is that because the BBC knows what I like.
Movie producer sues Variety over bad review. I guess assuming buying ads would get a good review was a dumb thing on this producer's part.
13 killer spoilers, secrets and surprises from KICK-ASS. I guess it has a different ending than the comic.
6 1/2 spoilery reasons to tune back in to V. I'll give it a few episodes, but I was underwhelmed by the first batch that aired.
Would you watch a THE THING prequel even if most of it was in a foreign language? Considering I'm already against a prequel, doubtful. I do think it's cool that they're going to have the foreign characters speaking in their own language. It drives me buts when I watch movies or TV shows and foreign characters talk to each other in English, even in their own country, or whatever. I know it's because the (probably correct) assumption is that the average American viewer is too lazy or stupid to read subtitles, but still, it's one of those things that rips away one's suspension of disbelief.
Last night's CHUCK was the lowest rated ever (Subway, get ready). Uh-oh.
Video Games
RESIDENT EVIL but not: ZOMBIE INFECTION (iPhone). Wow, that's a bad RESIDENT EVIL 5 clone.
MODERN WARFARE 2 Stimulus maps priced at $15. Gouge! Gouge!
SPLINTER CELL CONVICTION demo drops March 18. I just pre-ordered, so I don't know if I want to bother with the demo, or save myself for the full game.
“Too early” to start thinking DLC for SPLINTER CELL: CONVICTION, says Ubisoft. If they do DLC, I hope they do a few single-player maps. They did that for the first game, and all of the sequels have shafted those of us uninterested in multi-player.
Rein: Epic “owns” GEARS IP, “can do what we want with it”. Cue up the GEARS OF WAR on Playstation 3 rumors.
Epic Games isn't releasing any games in 2010. So much for new GEARS OF WAR this year. But... wait... Rumour – GEARS OF WAR 3 to release in April 2011.
Xbox boss says lack of Blu-ray is key to 360's success over PS3. Yeah, it made the 360 cheaper than the PS3 for a very long time. But now, DVD media's limitations are starting to catch up with the Xbox 360.
Fail
Only seven percent of Americans would pay for online news. I know I won't pay for it. I'll be able to get most of it for free somehow anyway.
Soda tax failing in NY, big joke in Philadelphia. It's dumb idea, created to generate tax revenue in the worst economic time since the Great Depression.
Meanwhile... Researchers urge government to levy tax on pizza. Stop trying to control what people eat! I can't take this nanny state nonsense.
UK P2P crackdown would only increase undetectable alternatives. People will always find a way to get stuff for free. Even if they have to go back to making copies and physically giving them to their friends.
House of Lords gives thumbs up to 3 strikes, site takedown. So I guess those of you in the UK will have to be careful. Hope this doesn't stop "illegal" uploads of my favorite shows from over there. I usually import the DVDs when they come out, but I hate waiting.
