Spider-Man
SPIDER-MAN has his new director. I haven't seen 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, so I have no opinion. Kinda interesting they went with an "artsy fartsy indie" director this time around.
Five dos and don'ts for rebooting SPIDER-MAN. The one I agree with the most is skip having it be the origin story again. Just make it a quick montage at the beginning of the flick and get to the meat of the story.
SPIDER-MAN 4 may draw inspiration from ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN. Makes sense, especially if the plan is to keep him in high school this time around instead of zipping him through in the first hour or so of the movie.
How Raimi's love for AVATAR led to the SPIDER-MAN 4 mercy-killing. Sam Raimi's made some good movies, and the first two SPIDER-MANs were alright. Given the awfulness of three and what I read here, it's a good thing he left the franchise behind.

NBC ends late night wars: Conan is out, Leno is back. According to another article I read, he'll be free to return to the air on another network on September 1st. I hope Fox gives him a show and he can destroy Leno in the ratings.
Conan O'Brien talks stall over staff buyout. I think it's really admirable that part of his deal was taking care of his staff.
NBC chief defends role in late-night debacle. This guy is a great example of failing upward.
SOUTHLAND's Ben McKenzie loves the canceling of Jay Leno. I gave up on SOUTHLAND after the pilot, but I love that celebs are taking pot shots and Leno's failure.

Fox readying U.S. version of TORCHWOOD. Another show I gave up on after the pilot. It just didn't grab me. I didn't even bother to watch the Cybermen episodes, and they're among my favorite classic DOCTOR WHO villains.
Raunchiest HOT TUB TIME MACHINE trailer to date [NSFW]. I'm really looking forward to this movie. Stupid title, but it looks funny as hell. Good cast too.
More4 looking to order a full series of TODD MARGARET. Oh good! The pilot was hilarious. This is that UK show that David Cross and Will Arnett did.

Report – No new HALF-LIFE this year. I wonder if we'll ever see HALF-LIFE 2: EPISODE 3. For that matter, I wonder what year it'll be when we finally get HALF-LIFE 3.
Nolan North confirms UNCHARTED 3. I hope it comes out this year, but I'm guessing 2011.
GOD OF WAR III's Titan gameplay drops jaws. I know GOW3 is coming out soon, but it's not a "get it at release" priority title for me. I do plan on getting it eventually though.
RE5: Gold Edition’s new Mercenary, second episode detailed. Kinda makes me wanna replay RE5.
Capcom: RE5: Gold Edition DLC was originally in the game. This is exactly why I hate DLC becoming standard. Strip features out of a game you're paying $50-60 for and then bang you for incremental add-ons for more money.
BIOSHOCK 2’s twist: “You won’t see it coming”. Isn't telling people there's a twist essentially telling them to look for one, so they will see it coming.
Decision to delay BIOSHOCK 2 was “impressive,” says dev boss. I have another word to describe it, "irritating".
CRYSIS 2 will be set in New York City. I wonder if console CRYSIS 2 will look as good as PC CRYSIS.
HEAVY RAIN DLC will make a murderer of you. Oh god. This is the sort of headline that you'd see on Fox News.

RIAA to FCC: ISPs need to filter content. I don't think that would even slow anybody down. Encryption, throw in a few dummy files, etc.
Music blogs “need to be regulated to stop piracy”. This is blogs where people like to things like Rapidshares of music, often in the comments and not the posts themselves.
