You can skip this post if you have no interest in some gambler whining about his losses and you won't miss a thing.
Wednesday is one of those days that makes me want to quit poker sometimes. I dropped about 6 buy-ins over the course of three sessions. Look at the graph for today alone...

Every time I got my money in while I was ahead, the other guy would luck out. Here's some of the fun I had today...
1) Lots of raising pre with a good hand, missing the flop. Adds up over a few hundred hands.
2) Made a bad mis-click because my dog was whining and somebody else was talking to me. Wound up accidentally making a two buy-in bet instead of the 2/3 bet I meant to make. That put my opponent all-in with complete trash and they sucked out and hit a weak flush on the river versus my set.
3) Had an idiot stack off with air on the flop and hit their 2-outter on the river.
4) Had a full house, the other guy had a slightly better full house.
5) Set of Aces, cracked by a rivered weak flush.
6) Accidentally folded AK preflop when I was clicking to save a note I had made.
Today really was the cherry on top of a month of losing. I started off losing, made a good chunk of it back this week, and lost it all back in a day. Look at the month overall...

I haven't been playing as much as I planned to and wanted to. Even playing more tables than I used to, it seems like I'm playing less hands per month than I was before. That's because the puppy keeps me incredibly busy. So I can't put in the hours like I used to.
The puppy also seems to have some sort of poker radar. Within 5 hands of opening up the PokerStars software, she always seems to have to go to the bathroom. In some cases, I've taken her out, had her pee and then let her wander around for 15 minutes, brought her in, fired up Stars and then had her whine because he had to go back out to drop off her brown cargo.
I'm also not getting much sleep, and playing when you're tired is bad.
I'm constantly studying and analyzing my game. Going over hands, reviewing where they went wrong, etc. The sick thing is that when I review big losing hands, I'm playing well, and still losing to people getting lucky. While poker is a skill game, there is still an element of luck involved, and frankly I'm incredibly unlucky.
I guess I should drop back down to one table and play incredibly nitty for a few sessions and see if that can bring me back up a bit. I hate to do that, because it's a step backwards, but maybe it's what I need to do.
