I turn 35 today. So that's not all that exciting.
I've got jury duty on Friday. So that sucks. I'll have to be awake during the early portion of the day, which will be rough for me since I'm a night owl and have to report to the courthouse right around the time that I normally go to bed. As an added bonus to jury duty normally being a lousy experience, I'll be stuck all day in a room in the courthouse with a bunch of other people.... with Swine Flu going around. This is without having been vaacinated. Given my luck, I'm sure to get it. So that should be a nice little birthday gift. (The card they send you as a reminder notes that failure to show up for jury duty has a $2,000 fine. If I had $2,000 to throw around I'd either just skip jury duty and pay the fine.)
GRAND THEFT AUTO: LIBERTY CITY STORIES and MODERN WARFARE 2 both ate up a nice chunk of time over the last two weeks. On the other hand, given how expensive games are these days, both were far shorter than I would've liked. The enjoyment time to cost ratio was a little off balance for me with both. Now LEFT 4 DEAD 2 is out, so I'll probably be grabbing that soon.
I'm a bit behind on a few shows, I've started deleting things that I recorded (or downloaded) that despite planning to watch them, I know that I'm never going to watch. (Or never going to watch them again if I did watch them.)
Poker has been going reasonably well this month. I've been winning overall, although not as much as I made in September, which was my best month so far. I've been doing a ton of studying to improve my game, and haven't been playing as many long sessions.
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week. Not really looking forward to that at all. I've never been a holiday person, and given how emotional (read: upset and depressed) my parents get during the holidays since my brother died, I look forward to it even less. (Which I didn't think was possible before last year.)
After that is Christmas, and given how tight my budget is, I'm sweating having money for presents this year. But hey, everybody's broke this year!
