(Wrote this last night, but Blogger was having some sort of issue.)
Wow, I pretty much abandoned this site. I've been a bit under the weather, so I've mostly been lying around watching TV. Honestly, that's not much of a difference from when I'm feeling perfectly healthy, except I've been playing far less poker than normal.
That'll Slow 'Em Down!
Some silliness from my city: Springfield City Council gives first-step approval to anti-gang ordinance. Fines for "gang activity". Yeah, fines will sure slow these guys down. I mean, what homicidal piece of human garbage wouldn't be terrified by a $100 fine, right? So laughable.
Tech
ISPs threaten metered broadband as net neutrality looms. As if low bandwidth caps weren't horrible enough. The bastards. That's all one can really say, isn't it?
Blu-ray add-on coming for Xbox 360, says Ballmer. I've got a PS3, so I don't need this, but given how often 360s die, wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a dedicated Blu-ray player? (Terror of my 360 dying is why I only use mine for games, and pretty much never use the HD-DVD drive and discs that I got with the 360 from my brother.)
Entertainment
The Weather Channel is about to become The Weather Movie Channel. Ridiculous. Why even bother having a specialty channel? They always start to drift from their original format and within a year or two, the channel's original purpose is completely gone and only the name remains.
ABC picks up CASTLE for full season. A bit surprising, since the ratings aren't that stellar, and it has a cast member from FIREFLY in it.
Live-action MACROSS = nerd boner. Whoa, that's actually pretty cool.
Dr. No died.
Bruce Willis cast in KANE & LYNCH. Huh. For a game that didn't sell very well, it's kinda surprising there's going to be a movie.
NBC Universal's Graboff says TV windows collapsing. I think TV has pretty much evolved beyond the major network concept.
Let's stop using cell phones during movies! I hated inconsiderate idiots in movie theaters before everybody had cell phones, the phones have just brought things to a whole new level.
Bill Lawrence: Judy Reyes won't appear in season nine, and other SCRUBS news. Wow, no Carla? That's a bit jarring.
DOLLHOUSE gets benched for sweeps. Yeah, that "we're not going to cancel it before airing all of this season's episodes" stuff? I'm willing to bet that disappears when HOUSE reruns get better ratings in the Friday Night Death Slot.
Hulu to charge for content; cubicle dwellers everywhere cringe. Where are those coffin nails? Oh, I see Hulu picked them up.
FX's 'ANARCHY' is first basic cable series to beat Leno. That's awesome. SONS OF ANARCHY is a good show, it's like THE SHIELD, but with a biker gang. (Not surprising, since SOA's creator/show-runner was a writer on THE SHIELD, and acted in a few episodes.)
Tennant named most popular Doctor. It's interesting that somebody finally knocked Tom Baker off that perch. Of course, how popular Tennant will be down the road is debatable.
V's new Diana tells us: Will she eat a guinea pig? That's the one thing that people remember more than anything else about the original. It's sort of iconic.
Video Games
I can't wait for next Friday. Hopefully Amazon does the "release day delivery" for GTA IV: EFLC, which wasn't one of the options when I pre-ordered.

Excellent Castle news! I love to watch Nathan Fillion right before I go to bed so that I’m filled with all kinds of warm and fuzzies. Makes for a better night’s rest…TMI?
