Poker Results From July

Not that the majority of you probably care, but a few might. So here's a graph of my poker results from July.

As you can see, I cratered for quite a few hands in the middle of the month, recovered and then had another nasty downswing. The end had a lot of quick drop-offs where I'd lose a buy-in or three and then quickly make it back. I'm still (just) below the maximum I made at the peak of the month, but I've gotten most of my money back.

After that first massive downswing, I decided to study a bit more and was playing less and went back to just one table at a time. (I did dabble with two and three tabling a bit during the upswings, but if things started to go south, I'd drop down to two or one. No matter how good you play, you will take some beatings from any two cards playing luck boxes from time to time. I seem to encounter an awful lot of those guys.) So I played far less hands in July than I did in June.

Looks like you ended the month on a high note. I like how you can chart your progress, and see your progress through a whole month.

Yeah, Hold'em Manager (that's the program I use) is awesome. It lets me keep track of everything, gives me real-time stats while I play, and when I'm done playing I always go over hands where I lost (especially ones that I lost large chunks of my stack) and look to see where I went wrong.

I'm still working on plugging some of the leaks in my game that the program points out to me. So between this prog, the massive amounts of time I play each day, and all of the reading I do, I'm always learning something new.
