Tech

Microsoft extends Windows XP lifespan through 2011. XP is immortal. I wonder if even Windows 7 can replace it. (I'm certain that 7 will replace Vista.)

Entertainment

REAPER creators join DOLLHOUSE writing staff. Meanwhile, Actors recall the life & death of the CW's REAPER. Sounds like the show isn't coming back. Period.

Video Games

Take-Two looks to sell 5 million copies of BIOSHOCK 2. That's pretty ambitious.

Cliff Bleszinski not yet "burned out" on GEARS OF WAR. I wonder how long that franchise will go on.

Microsoft: There will be no new console. Rumors that there will be a new Xbox next year, are apparently false. I'm sure there will be a new bundle with Natal included though.

The Usual Soapbox Issue

Researchers conclude piracy not stifling content creation. You know what does stifle content creation? Record company and movie/TV studio executive meddling.

RIAA: Be Careful What You Wish For. Looks like the bastards won the Jammie Thomas lawsuit: "If a single mother of two kids, age 32, can be whacked for almost $2 million for downloading 24 songs, and the RIAA actually believes that such a verdict should be enforced, can a law that allows this to happen be left on the books for long?" Seriously $2 million for 24 songs? That's not just insane, it's abhorrent. On top of that some of the songs she was sued for sharing are absolutely wretched. They're not even worth "stealing".
