Entertainment Stuff

Don't ask me why, but I watched the TMNT computer animated movie in HD via OnDemand earlier today. I saw it among the choices, and just wanted to see how the CGI looked. Surprisingly, I wound up watching the whole thing. That's something I didn't expect to do since I haven't had any real interest in the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES since I bought the four colorized trade paperbacks of their early indie comics back in the late 80's. It's a shame that the computer animation of today wasn't around back when that series was at the height of it's popularity in the 80's. A CGI flick like this probably would have aged better and been more fondly remembered than those live action disasters. This one was Pixar quality. Call me crazy, but I might even buy TMNT on DVD at some point. (Note: Shameless sales plug!) Seriously, I really liked the graphics. The last CG animated movie I liked this much was THE INCREDIBLES.

After that I dozed off re-watching HIGH TENSION. (Also on On-Demand HD.) Really good movie, I just needed a nap.

I heard that the DVD screener of the FRINGE pilot leaked online. I haven't personally checked it out though. It's one of the two new shows starting in the fall that I plan on giving a shot. The other is DOLLHOUSE. Both are on Fox though, so I'm not planning on getting too invested in either.

I've only got an episode and a half of the old 1981 TV version of HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY before I'm done with it. I'm not sure what'll become my "watch as I fall asleep" viewing choice after that. (Not that the TV version is bad, I just tend to only put it on in that last fifteen minutes before I fall asleep.)

I still haven't seen this week's DOCTOR WHO. I've heard it's a bit of a filler episode and it was written by RTD. Two things that equal up to my not being in any real rush to watch it.

You are located in Springfield? Are you a neighbour of Homer Simpson? :-)

Well, according to Wikipedia there are 29 cities/towns named Springfield in the US. (Although the one in Massachusetts was the first, so you could call it the original.) The one in Vermont won the "official Springfield of THE SIMPSONS" movie premiere contest last year. (Something that I didn't really care about in the slightest, I haven't watched THE SIMPSONS since like the second or third season.) So, I'd say the answer would be, no.
