Call me crazy, but that could've worked as a finale to the show. It's pretty much the bleak ending I expected. I don't want to post spoilers. I'll just say that, in a way it'd make more sense for the fleet to just turn around and go back to where they started. (At least there's buildings there.)
Small continuity gaffe: Chief's hair is much longer in this episode compared to his "so short it's nearly bald" look from the previous episodes. Considering the span of time between the last few episodes is a maximum of a few days, it was a little jarring. Either that, or Cylons grow hair really fast. (My guess is that this episode was filmed post-writer's strike and the others before.)
