Quiet July So Far

Yikes. A week into the month and I've only updated once. That's pretty terrible.

Looking to do get some more milage out of my game library, I replayed BIOSHOCK 2. My opinion about the first one being better and feeling longer still hasn't changed. It's a decent sequel to an excellent game. I'm currently replaying UNCHARTED 2 and that's an excellent sequel to an excellent game. I was looking forward to getting DEAD RISING 2 next month, but it looks like that's been pushed back. (I also still haven't gotten around to taking another crack at fixing my 360 by re-tightening the screws on the heatsink, but it did work for about a 1/2 hour the other day before it over-heated. I really just want to get one of the new models anyway.)

I start watching a lot of movies and then either get bored and turn it off or I fall asleep. There isn't anything decent on On-Demand this month. Or I should say, anything decent that I don't already own or haven't seen more than once already.

I haven't been putting in as many hours to poker as I had planned. I still play every day, but I'm just not putting in the volume in like I should. Roughly 13 hours in 8 days is not a lot. Of course, there were two days where I was having stomach problems, so playing my A-game wasn't happening, and it was hard to sit there for more than a half hour before I'd need to get up. I have been keeping up on my reading and I did watch a video yesterday though.

Summer is a TV wasteland.

I keep watching PERSONS UNKNOWN waiting for something to happen. The whole thing just feels boring and padded out. Might've worked better as a movie or shorter six episode show.

LEVERAGE is pretty hit or miss for me. It's definitely not a show I can watch more than one episode at a time. The last time they aired two new ones back to back, I gave up about 10 minutes or so into the second one because it was boring and switched over to HBO to watch the last half of HUNG and then ENTOURAGE (there's a show I should've given up on by now).

There are new episodes of THE IT CROWD, which I generally love. Still, that show usually only runs six episodes a season and two are have already aired.

So, like I wrote not too long ago, summer is a slow time and I generally don't find much to write about. If I were still doing link posts there'd probably be a post every day or two, but I prefer to just have a dedicated daily links page provided by Google to save time.

Louis CK has a new show called Louie and it's pretty good.

Yeah. I liked the first episode, but the second was kinda bleh. Haven't seen the third yet, since it hasn't hit OnDemand, at least not when I checked.
