The First Doctor Again

One thing I find really interesting about the current series (or season, if you prefer) of DOCTOR WHO is that the image of the first Doctor keeps popping up in episodes. Obviously he was in the montage of all the previous Doctors in episode one. Then in "Vampires Of Venice" the Doctor's ID card had a picture of the original Doctor. Then in the most recent episode (which won't air for two more weeks in the US), we see the first Doctor again, and we also get a picture of the second Doctor as well...

If both actors hadn't been dead for decades, I'd think they were trying to set up a multi-Doctor episode with these older incarnations. Obviously that's impossible though. I have to say, I love the referencing of the old Doctors. I also liked the Easter Egg a few episodes back of the TARDIS build date being 1963, the year the first episode of the show aired.
