Winter is here. Well, pretty much. So that means it's that time of year where I dig out some sweatshirts and throw them in the laundry. I need more of the kind that zip up in front. All I could find were pull-overs. Then again, I do like the semi-kangaroo pouch like feel of pull over sweatshirts. The upside to zipped in the front is easier removal when in a room that's hotter than another. These are the sorts of useless things that I think about.
I've been trying to catch up on MODERN FAMILY. I watched one episode awhile ago and found it pretty funny and then forgot about it. But I watched the first three late last night. I think the one I had already seen was the fourth.
I've also been watching a few Hitchcock movies. The most recent being NORTH BY NORTHWEST. I might have to pick that up on Blu-ray. In general, I find a good chunk of what I've been watching lately are old movies. Really, since most movies today are crappy remakes anyway, might as well watch older movies before they get remade with tons of product placement and actors from the CW (who are about as macho as Richard Simmons comapred to actors in old movies).
Since one can only replay the single player portion (including Spec Ops) of MODERN WARFARE 2 so many times, I decided to pop the first DEAD RISING into the Xbox 360 for an hour or two eariler tonight. I popped it in because the sequel is coming out soon (February) but after about an hour I got a little bored and shut it off. I like the game, and have beaten it. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for it and couldn't get immersed in the experience. I definitely need something new to play. I'm leaning towards getting UNCHARTED 2. I just hope that game has a lengthy single-player campaign. I hate these games that take less than four hours to beat because the focus has become multi-player.
Poker has been very up and down so far this month. I recovered all of my losses from that Thanksgiving weekend spew, and made some profit on top. Now I'm just making a little losing a portion of it and then winning it back with a little more in the next session or two. I guess I should be happy that even if I'm not winning as much as I'd like, I'm not losing much when I do lose.
I haven't done my Christmas shopping yet. I've got the money set aside though. Hopefully I can just get it all done in one go, and preferably online. Generally, not too excited about Christmas this year. Can't wait to get it over with.
My quest to find a new phone (in my modest price range) has come down to two contenders. I'm either going with a Sony Ericsson or Nokia. They're pretty much neck and neck, but the Nokia has WiFi, and the Sony doesn't. The WiFi would be handy since it's free net on the phone, compared to 3G needing a data plan. etc. All of this could change between now and whenever I actually decide I absolutely have to get a new phone. I also need to pay my phone bill this week, and I'll be really annoyed if my current phone permanently dies within a day of doing that.
