Took a few days off from posting, although one of those days I was working on changing up the look of the page (more on that here). So there's a small backlog of links.
Two Bits Of Good News
Confirmed: UIGEA delayed until June 1, 2010. Good news for online poker players like myself. The law was supposed to go into effect in December of 2009. All it will really do is make it hard(er) to deposit money on online poker sites. Cashing out won't be effected by this very much. I just need to remember to put some money I've won on PokerStars in on Full Tilt before it goes through next year.
Google Reader adds favicon support. Semi-useful.
Entertainment
A better look at the new Freddy Krueger. Wasn't broke. Got fixed anyway. "Reimagining." HAHAHAHA!
Learn the real reason Darth Vader wears a helmet Answer: Because the concept artist put more thought into STAR WARS' story than George Lucas did.
First official photos: THE LOSERS. I forget how the comic ended. That's not too relevant to the story, I suppose, but I needed to make some sort of comment.
Video Games
Capcom: “absurd” to blame society’s ills on games. There's always something. TV, movies, music, books, etc.
Valve: listening to PC gamers, frequent updates equal success. How about an update on HALF-LIFE 2: EPISODE 3? Please!!!
Japanese man weds video game bride. I know it's become a cliche to say this, but... "Wow. Just wow."
RESIDENT EVIL 5: Gold Edition's new enemy is all kinds of creepy. Looks interesting. Not enough to sell me on the DLC, but that's what the new story mode is for, I suppose.
The Rest
MPAA: illegal movie streaming is still theft. I get that they're against unauthorized streams of "pirated" movies. But, I'd also be willing to bet that the MPAA thinks that watching a movie at somebody else's house or borrowing one of the DVDs is also "theft".
A high definition disconnect. There are a lot of people like this out there. In fact, my mom is one of them. She has an HDTV and HD cable box, but watches the standard def channels... even when the same channel/show is available in HD. It "doesn't look any different" to her. She also gets bonus points for watching 4:3 content stretched to 16:9. Hey, whatever makes her happy, it's her TV, right?
