Confirmed: Jack Kirby's heirs want a piece of Spider-Man. This is despite the fact that Kirby was far less involved with the creation of Spider-Man than Lee and Ditko. It's interesting that while lots of fans were against DC in a similar situation, so many people are calling the Kirby heirs leeches. (They're even using the exact same lawyer!) I do find it odd that people who had nothing to do with these creations aside from being related to a creator or co-creator can try to get a piece or all of the rights to characters that their relatives created under work for hire contracts. I'd sure like to get paid for work I never did.

HEROES takes a steep dive in the ratings or as TVSquad put it, Now it seems NOBODY cares about HEROES. It still got six million viewers... except that down 46% from last year. Ouch. I guess I'm not the only one who decided that enough was enough and there are better ways to spend time. It's sickening that HEROES got to come back while we're still waiting for CHUCK, which got a reduced episode order and a late (Spring) start.

While I'm at it, why is the show called HEROES, when nobody on there is the least bit heroic? Everything every single character on that show does is out of self-interest, including saving New York in the first season. Even the two characters on there who want to be super heroes spend far more time talking about it than ever doing anything. Ever.

I'm also pleased to note that Leno took another huge ratings dive as well.

Demise of broadcast TV is hot topic at Emmys. It is pretty much close to being game over for the networks, isn't it? I did like reading Tina Fey's dig at NBC and Leno.

PRISON BREAK's Miller heads back to zombie filled jail for RESIDENT EVIL'S AFTERLIFE. This just screams, "wait for cable".

Whedon: Fox ripped out DOLLHOUSE's core concept. Well, who didn't expect that to happen? Then again, who buys a show that clearly sounds like it's based around a whorehouse and then decides they don't want the show to be about a whorehouse?

SNATCH is coming to Blu-ray. Yet another movie to add to the want list.

Battlestar Galactica: The Plan not on TV this year. Before that final episode of the regular series, I probably would've been annoyed by this. Now I'm pretty much shrugging my shoulders. I'll just download the DVDrip when it hits the net, rather than watch or buy it. If it's good, I'll pick it up. (I still haven't gotten any of the season 4 DVDs even though I have season 1 on HD-DVD, all the season 1-3 box sets, and the TV movie about the Pegasus, whose name I forgot.)

Lawsuit: copyright filtering technology infringes. I just love this sort of stuff. I really can't get enough of these sorts of stories.

ISPs react, sort of support network neutrality—with caveats. Basically, they seem smart enough to know that saying they're in favor of charging more for access to certain sites is a gigantic publicity mistake.
