Networks, advertisers teaming up to take on Nielsen. I wonder if this will mean less canceled shows?
Legendary guitarist, inventor Les Paul dies, age 94. I've never been a fan of Les Paul guitars, but the man did invent the tech for the sorts of electric guitars that I've loved playing for over twenty years.
Tom Baker: 'I won't advise Matt Smith'. Tom remains the best Doctor ever.
RENO 911! canceled. Loved the early seasons, the season after the movie came out was a serious decline in quality, and I stopped watching after the first episode of the current (final) season. The drop in funny and the cast changes just made me decide there were better ways to spend 22 minutes a week.
Warner Bros has lost Krypton; will lose Superman in 2013. I'm not even going to get into what a mess this whole thing is and how stupid both sides are.
Bryan Singer's BSG: It's on. Seems like a pointless effort to make a third version (unless it's a continuation of the original series) so soon after the ending of the first reboot. (More here.)

id Software says DOOM 4 is coming next year! Maybe! I'm midly interested. DOOM 3 didn't grab me like I thought it would, so my expectations are greatly lowered for 4.
Lukewarm reception held back SPLINTER CELL CONVICTION in 2007. I guess fans didn't want the semi-homeless looking "emo" Sam Fisher.
Impressions: ALPHA PROTOCOL. An early look at the upcoming spy game. (This one better not get delayed!)

Digsby joins the dark side, uses your PC to make money. To be fair, it can be not installed and turned off. It's just a shame they try to get people to install crapware. Digsby is probably the slickest multi-IM client out there. If I still used IM, I'd probably use Digsby. (I have accounts, I just rarely log in.)
Firm reports Twitter is 40% useless babble. We're 0% surprised. But if it weren't for Twitter, how would people know how much money I'm winning or losing at poker or when I'm tired and want to watch a movie?!?
Speaking of Twitter, hackers use Twitter to control botnet. That's kinda scary and ingenious.
Dumb
Warner joins Fox, Universal and pulls new releases from Redbox. Again, making it harder for people who are still willing to *pay* to see movies to do so, isn't exactly a smart business move.

I guess one can say that movie studios have had a long tradition of crappy business models. Thankfully with the rise of the Internet, we can fight back against these bully tactics. I think you have to have the IQ of less than 75 in order to run a movie studio nowadays.
