Random Stuff
Is cursive handwriting dead? I never could quite grasp how to write a "z" in cursive. Then again, even my regular printing hand-writing has become so illegible over the last decade. Signing things aside, 99% of any writing I do is all typed.
Consumer reports declares Wendy's & McDonald's have scientifically superior french fries. Personally, I've come to prefer getting a baked potato at Wendy's. Although, I'll still eat the fries from time to time.
Tech
AT&T: 4chan block due to DDoS attack coming from 4chan IPs. Ahhh... 4chan.
AP doesn’t know its protection tech doesn’t protect. It's hilarious watching newspapers failing to learn from the mistakes of the music and film/TV industry.
RIAA file sharing trial begins. I wonder how much they're going to try to squeeze out this poor chump.
Entertainment
Co-Chairman Ben Silverman Out At NBC. A lot of people seem happy about this because this guy ran NBC into the ground. I just hope this doesn't have any negative impact on CHUCK (and to a lesser extent THE OFFICE and 30 ROCK).
LOST bringing back characters from 1st season. So I guess those rumors are true.
DJ Caruso to direct video game adaptation DEAD SPACE. Given the stunning mediocrity of DISTURBIA and EAGLE EYE, this pretty much elicits a yawn from me.
First episode of V reboot is creepy and intriguing. Again, really looking forward to this show.
Quentin Tarantino: I would have done CASINO ROYALE with Pierce Brosnan. The version of CASINO ROYALE that we did get to see is what turned me into a Bond fanboy, along with picking up the Connery DVDs on the cheap. I wonder if I would've had the same reaction to a Tarantino Bond flick with Brosnan. I mean, I'd casually watch one or two of the early movies, so there was a chance I would've seen it. I definitely would've seen it if Tarantino did it, since I've seen all of his flicks. Oh well, I guess it's irrelevant since that's not what happened.
Video Games
Ubisoft's Guillemot explains SPLINTER CELL, RED STEEL delays. I'm still going to cry myself to sleep over this delay for the next few nights. (One of the comments pointing out that Ubisoft is probably scared of losing tons of sales to MODERN WARFARE 2 made sense to me. Between MW2, ALPHA PROTOCOL, LEFT 4 DEAD 2, and the disc with two GTA4 add-on games, I'll have plenty to play in the late fall and early winter.)
