Links For 7-20-2009

Surprisingly, not much worth linking to over the weekend. All three stories that I did find relate to technology and copyright. So if you're not into the whole soapbox thing, you can probably just skip this post.

EFF, libraries: Keep your ACTA out of our Internet! What is known about the "secret" ACTA treaty is that's it's pretty much vaguely worded legalese that borders on being outright fascism. So, I fully expect it to pass.

Metallica’s Lars Ulrich is proud of Napster’s destruction. The Napster thing aside, Ulrich has always come across as an absolute douchebag. (I also find it ironic that a band who's audience was built on fan-distributed tapes at the band's encouragement became so against sharing music. I guess becoming a millionaire makes you drop the very thing that made you successful to begin with in a heartbeat.)

DRM is dead, RIAA says. Oh, I'm sure they'll try to resurrect it.

Hopefully, I can squeeze out something else to read later on today.
