Amazon shuts Web associates as sales taxes looms. I wonder how long it'll take Taxachusetts to jump on this bandwagon and get me (and every other Amazon Associate in the state) dropped from the program. Any minute now, I imagine.

It's no lie: Pirate Bay purchased by gaming giant, closing tracker. So yeah, stick a fork in that site because it's done now. Seriously, the name alone isn't enough to maintain the popularity. The prospect of an actual company, which has more to lose than a few individuals and therfore would drop the dime on its users in a heartbeat, should be a chilling thought to anybody who continues to use the site for less than legal downloading. Just look at Napster and DivX as two things that were sold and have pretty much died as a result.

In fact, knowing what's up, The Pirate Bay adds 'user deletion' feature to the site. Probably a smart move.

On a related note: Pirate Bay founders get rich in jail. Well, that's a bullshit headline. All of the Pirate Bay guys are still roaming around free.

Taiwanese collections society tells singer he can't post his own music. Yeah, the industry is looking out for the best interests of the artists. My ass.

Verizon says house shoppers crave high-fiber Internet diet. I know if I were in the market being able to get the highest speed (and bandwidth cap free if possible ) internet would definitely be a factor in my decision.
