Some Useful Tips

Don't clean your HDTV with Windex. Something I already knew, but some of you might not.

Lifehacker's guide to upgrading to Windows 7 RC. I'm holding out for the final before attempting an upgrade. I'm on the fence about downloading the RC, which I'd probably use in a virtual machine. Plus, I'd have to upgrade from XP, so until I can scratch up the dough for an big enough external hard drive to hold all of the stuff I don't want deleted on my main machine by a reformat, I'll have to hold out.

Entertainment

Dom DeLuise dies at age 75. Bummer. He seemed like a nice guy.

DEADPOOL spin-off officially announced. Bleh.

Useless Laws On The Net

RIAA still filing lawsuits... It's not really surprising that they lied a few months back about giving up on suing people. In fact, knowing that the "three strikes" law was where they said they wanted to try to focus energy on rather than individual lawsuits, and knowing that that law is a tough sell (it's already failed to get passed in multiple countries), it's no surprise they were going to keep suing people. What is surprising, is they seem to assume that nobody will remember that they said they were planning to stop suing individuals and are now claiming that they never said that.

U.S. Rep. Frank to unveil online gambling bill. It's not like the (stupid) anti-gambling laws currently in place have actually stopped anybody. It doesn't really seem to be enforced.

Prison awaiting hostile bloggers. Between file-sharers and people who say things that other people don't like online, sounds like most of the world will be a prison planet. I guess because some kid was a little too thin-skinned and offed herself, now they want to make it so you can't say negative things about anybody on the internet. Good luck with that.

Video Games

Crytek helps Free Radical realize their dreams. Like the article says, I hope another TIMESPLITTERS game is among those dreams. (Should be, since there were plans for one and concept sketches.)

Capcom: MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 'not part of deal' to re-release MvC2. So much for that rumor, huh? Still, a MvC3 on the STREET FIGHTER IV engine would be pretty sweet, huh?

FXIII release in Europe sooner than a year after Japan. It's nice that Square would like to shorten the localization time, but you'd think they could get more pro-active with it. Simultaneously develop the translations with the Japanese version, it'd cut down on delays.

Thank you for the Don't use Windex link. I was telling my roomie two weeks that I thought it was a bad idea. But boys never listen to girls when it comes to advice like this.
