Despite all of the rumors, CHUCK has not officially been renewed yet. (At least, as of this writing.) I expect that if/when it does get renewed it'll be a shorter season of 13-18 episodes. Possibly even a mid-season show instead of fall. That's just a guess on my part. Anyway, I mention this because of multiple conflicting news stories in my Google Reader, and normally I would've posted a link either way the story went.
Now, onto the regular links...
The Net
Why MySpace is really GeoCities 2.0. I still have a Myspace but I rarely log in, and almost never get new "friend requests", even from spambots. So, I'd agree that people have moved on and the comparison between Myspace and Geocities is pretty valid.
Twitter's tipping point. All I hear these days is Twitter Twitter Twitter, everywhere I go. Hell, even my mother is on Twitter. She doesn't know what it's for, but she signed up because the rest of the planet did. I've been on there for a little over two years, so I find it funny that all of the sudden it's the "in" thing.
Video Games
CALL OF DUTY 7 rumored to be set in Vietnam, Cuba. I wonder if Infinity Ward are ditching working on the COD games and plan on concentrating on MODERN WARFARE as it's own series instead.
3D RESIDENT EVIL 5 coming to PC. That could almost make me want to buy the game again, after already buying the Xbox 360 version at launch.
Content Industry Grumblings
Former RIAA lawyer at DOJ will only avoid RIAA issues for a year. Then it's open season! Well, that's something to look forward to, isn't it? Sort of like looking forward to getting kicked in the face.
MPAA website, now with torrents. Somebody hacked the MPAA's site and made it display Pirate Bay search results on the MPAA's site. Again, I think that defacing websites only makes the hacker's cause (even if I agree with them) look bad. Still, I have to award points for hilarity.
Disney to remove all extras from rental DVDs as well. While I don't watch many Disney movies (I only own THE INCREDIBLES on DVD), and I usually don't bother too much with DVD extras, I don't think dropping extras from rental movies will have any effect on sales.

Once a word like "Twitter" slips out of Oprah's mouth it’s only a matter of time before insanity ensues.
It was already popping up everywhere even before Oprah and her army of housefraus descended upon it. I remember a few weeks back flipping past one of those tabloid TV shows, I think it was INSIDE EDITION or whatever, and they were devoting airtime to telling people about their Twitter account. It's just funny how many people feel the need to "get on the Twitter" despite not knowing a single thing about it.
