30% of internet users admit to buying from spam. I can't believe that these people exist. I guess a lot of people need various pills, fake watches, and porn.
Comcast to slow down heaviest 'net users to DSL speeds. Oh boy! I can't wait to see my connection come to a grinding halt, particularly in the evenings when I'm sharing a connection. How Comcastic.
7 MTV-defining stars who wouldn't be allowed on MTV anymore. Spoiler: My favorite item on this list is the font that used to list the band/song/album info at the beginning and end of each music video. That's probably the most telling one of all.
Britney Spears Live! "This is the feed from her live microphone... and only her live microphone." Wow. I always knew she was talentless, hence the need to lipsync live. This just shows that without a zillion bucks worth of computer generated correction studio effects, she can't sing worth a shit. Even that isolated track of David Lee Roth in the studio doing "Runnin' With The Devil" without the backing music sounded better than this. (And let's face it, Diamond Dave was never a strong singer, he was carried by pure charisma and Eddie's talent.)
id: Piracy is a 'hidden benefit' for manufacturers. I love how all of the companies that are scaling back on PC games as they move towards consoles keep finding new things to blame it on. Let's just be blunt, taking piracy 100% out of the equation, there's more money to be made in console games. That's the real reason for the move. They sell in bigger numbers, even on systems that can play copied games. Why? There isn't the need for constant hardware upgrades, and people like to play from a comfy couch or chair on a bigger screen than a computer monitor. There's no messing around with config files and drivers or any of that. You just pop the game in and you're playing. Plus, claiming that piracy is some sort of benefit for PC manufacturers is utter bullshit. PC games are what keep the manufacturers pumping out minimally upgraded hardware every month or so, hardware designed to keep up with the newest games. Well, until the next thing that will require slightly more graphics power comes along.
