Bank robber who researched 'nonviolent bank robberies' draws 2-4 years. Apparently he didn't research how not to get caught. Getting drunk and telling your friends what you did instead of quietly taking the money and disappearing is hardly the most cunning plan, is it?
FCC Order scolds Comcast for changing story on P2P blocking. So, they get shit from the government for slowing down people for using Bit Torrent? What's their solution? Oh, you had to see this coming...
Comcast's new plan: send heavy users to the back of the line. Slow everything down for "heavy users". I can only imagine how much my connection will start dragging now. What sort of voodoo sacrificial ritual do I have to perform to get FIOS in my area?
RIAA comic tries to scare kids, says they face years in jail. So not only do they put out a shitty propaganda comic, the kind they used to give away to kids to teach them about things like the dangers of talking to strangers or to brush your teeth, but they expect people to pay for it too?
MAMMA MIA! Not ABBA enough, goes sing-along. I'd rather swim through a pool full of broken glass than see this movie, but can you imagine being the poor fool dragged along to a version of this where the audience are encouraged to sing along? Just the mental image of being trapped in that sea of mouth-breathing hysterectomy patients singing along off-key to one of the worst things to happen to music ever is an image that will stop me from sleeping for a day or two.
Is GUITAR HERO saving rock 'n' roll? I'd imagine to a generation of kids brought up on music made by generic corporate-created lip-syncing pop acts, game show-winning karaoke singers, and rappers whose output consists of remixing and featuring guests on every track, rock music would seem fresh and interesting. Tie that into a video game, and yeah, I imagine sales are pretty good.
Shocker: academic thinks videogames make people dumb. I guess because kids aren't interested in older things these days. Wow! Kids aren't interested in things that aren't current? How shocking and new!
