PUNISHER WAR: ZONE will be rated R, rumors are bogus. I guess those rumors were found at: Lionsgate wants a PG-13 PUNISHER: WAR ZONE? From a business standpoint, the studios love PG-13 because it means more people can get in to see the movie, more asses in the seats. From a creative standpoint it's shit. If it does get neutered from an R to a PG-13, most people will wait for the unrated DVD.
Kevin Smith has seen WATCHMEN: "It's F**king Astounding". While I enjoyed the series well enough, I don't hold it with the reverence that most comics do. That having been said, it'll be interesting to see how well a lengthy comic miniseries translates into a 2-3 hour movie. (I'd imagine they'll have to trim out so much stuff.)
