Comedian and actor Bernie Mac dies at 50. Aw, that's too bad.
The Pirate Bay blocked in Italy. Pfft! Yeah, that'll work.
Comcast Tech Accuses 74-Year-Old Man Of Stealing Cable Service. A relative of the man was transfering her cable internet service over to her grandfather's house. The grandfather had basic cable, when the tech saw that the house was already receiving cable TV he flipped out and refused to look at the old guy's bill or believe that Comcast allows more than one account per household. The funny thing is, unless things have changed from the time when I worked at a cable/internet company, a basic cable signal is necessary for the cable modem to work. I'm pretty sure that in most instances, even if you only pay for cable internet, if you were to plug a coax cable from your TV into a cable outlet you'd get basic cable.
DefCon: Boston Subway Officials sue to stop talk on fare card hacks -- Update: restraining order issued; talk cancelled. Seems like too little too late. The info is already out there on the net. Besides, people have been hacking card readers for years. I had a friend who hacked his apartment building's laundry room keycards. Anyway, between the embarrassment of how easy it is to do this sort of thing and the fact that it's probably very expensive to upgrade or replace the existing system, I can see why they want the info supressed.
