You know how I can tell that I'm getting old? Now, after I eat a meal (usually dinner), I find myself dozing off for an hour or two in front of the TV immediately afterward. Frankly, that's distressing to me.
Another thing making me think I'm getting old is that I don't know who the hell half of the "famous people" whose names I scroll past on entertainment news feeds every day are. I can't tell if this is because I'm old and out of touch, or because they're just the newest versions of sucky things that I didn't pay any attention to when I was younger (mostly those fly-by-night pop acts that become a huge "where are they now" joke within a year or two). I'm inclined to think it's the latter.
I've watched a few movies and things. I keep reminding myself that I want to write some brief reviews of them. Constant streams of nothing but links doesn't make for compelling reading. Mixing things up a bit would be nice.

All of the hype about THE DARK KNIGHT has actually made me exponentially less interested in seeing it. I doubt I'll bother seeing it in theaters. (I hate going to see movies in the theater these days anyway.) Some of my earliest memories consist of Batman comics, so I'm a lifelong fan. However, the constant barrage of trailers and coverage everywhere has just turned me off. Plus, the chick in this one is a serious downgrade from the last time out. The best nickname I've seen for her online is "the sad cartoon turtle". To be fair though, even Katie Holmes was past her hotness expiration date when BATMAN BEGINS came out.
Wow. Newsarama has an interstitial ad when you go to the site before the homepage even loads now? Between the newfound lack of focus on comics and terrible new forum software, people were unhappy. Now this? They're really trying to drive the old crowd away, aren't they? Too bad. They used to be one of, if not the very best comics news sites online.

i used to love newsarama. now it's terrible. the redesign was ugly as hell i thought. and the ads are just annoying now. i'm going to ign for my comic news lately, since i already go there for 360 and pc game info.
as far as batman goes, i've never gotten into him. i've been a huge punisher fan though for a long time. i'm kinda looking forward to the new movie, just to see how it turns out, but dreading issue 61. i don't see anyone but garth doing a A+ punisher.
also, the watchmen trailer i'm not stoked on. it looks way to much like 300 with the slomo spiny kick shit. i'm hoping it will not suck, but given hollywood's track record with moore movies, i'm not expecting much.
When you doze off in front of the TV do you yell at other people for changing the channel because you're "only resting your eyes"?
Andrew: I mostly just go to CBR for my news. I always went to both CBR and Newsarama, but now I tend to lean on CBR more.
darckkorion: No, it's more like some sort of post-eating narcolepsy or something. One minute I'm watching TV, the next it's a coma for an hour or two.
