I guess it's a bad idea to wait until you're out of underwear to do laundry. Particularly, if the first load of laundry that you do is in a washing machine that decides to break and slightly flood your basement. Leaving you with a lot of wet on the floor, unclean clothes that are soaking wet because the washer won't drain, and the only clean underwear that you have left is the pair that you're wearing.
At the very least, I would've been happy if the stuff had gotten clean before the machine decided to die. Instead I had the "pleasure" of wringing out my soaking wet and soapy boxers, a few t-shirts, several pairs of black socks, and a pair of jeans by hand. Then I threw all of that in the dryer, which I'm hoping doesn't explode, in an attempt to dry the not-really-washed items so they don't get all mildewy. (Is that a word?)
So it looks like I'll be buying some new underwear to get me through until I can pay my first ever (to my recollection at least) visit to a laundrymat to clean the rest of my stuff.
Well, unless I decide to go commando. But I don't think that's a good idea.

Well, the ones that I ran through the dryer came out okay. They'll get me through until the next time I need to do laundry. That having been said, I'll probably still buy some more as well. You can never have too much underwear.
commando is the only way to roll. trust me, it's more comfortable than wearing two pair of shorts at the same time.
Not for me it isn't. I gave it a try in the early 90s.
