This Is Not The Future We Were Promised

"Labor Day" has gotten me to thiking about who should be doing the labor by now.

No robot servants (unless you count people with a Roomba). No flying cars. No space colonies. No silver jumpsuits for everybody. No death rays. We're living in "the future" and it's not what old school sci-fi promised. I'm disappointed. Seriously, where's my moonbase and robot maid?


We've been had.

It's times like this that occurs to me that we were lied to by the Jetsons.

THE JETSONS was a huge lie. With their four hour workweeks. (I think that's what it was. I know it was some tiny amount of hours.)
